Our Approach

We believe that learning is an integrated experience, woven into the fabric of each school day. Hands-on activities and interactive lessons provide a fully engaging learning experience. With a focus on individual attention and an appreciation for the unique qualities of every student, we endeavor to meet the needs of each child in a warm and safe environment.

Confident, Capable, and Constantly Growing

At Magen Israel, we are dedicated to the development of the whole child and are committed to developing lifelong learners and inspiring community-minded talmidim and talmidot in the Torah way while providing a safe, loving, and happy environment for all students. Magen Israel challenges students to expand their knowledge and develop new skills, including their academic, social, and emotional competencies. Here at Magen Israel, we are committed to supporting the development of each child’s sense of self, belonging, and significance. We provide the skills and confidence to succeed far beyond the classroom, enabling students to reach their full potential. Our motto is:

“Learning today.... Leading tomorrow.”

and it’s not just a slogan. It’s what we live by and strive for.

Learning and absorption of knowledge are so much more than copying figures from a blackboard. We employ interactive learning techniques and real-world process of relaying information in the classroom. We combine a balanced hybrid of passive and interactive learning giving students the opportunity to engage in discussion and discovery that bring each lesson to life.

Interactive Curriculum

With the constant rise of hyperstimulation that has become our reality, interactive learning keeps students engaged and focused on the lessons they’re learning and aids in retaining that information as well. Interactive learning sharpens critical thinking skills, which are
fundamental to the development of analytic reasoning. A child who can explore an open-ended question with imagination and logic is learning how to make decisions, as opposed to just regurgitating memorized information.

Another key element of interactive learning is discussion and conversation, teaching children how to collaborate and work successfully in groups, an indispensable skill in life both in personal and professional interactions.

“Education that is merely concerned with the transmission of knowledge is destined to failure. It must serve a more noble purpose of cultivating a student’s moral character.”

Our school employs the cutting-edge Chayolei Tzivos Hashem program to inspire students to grow in their moral conduct and character. Chayolei Tzivos Hashem has been designed to give children a sense of pride and belonging, an appreciation for what they do and inspire them to want to do more. Since its inception, CTH has captured hearts and minds of children worldwide.

Children feel empowered and special to be entrusted with the Rebbe’s mission to bring Moshiach by doing acts of goodness and kindness and good deeds. As a uniquely tailored program, each child is able to climb the levels and ladders of the Army of Hashem according to their capabilities, giving them confidence and encouragement as they grow at their own pace. At monthly international webcast rallies, recognition is given to students who have gone up in rank. Participating schools also have custom made mission sheets that help students advance in rank.

As children complete missions, they earn medals to be placed in their rank books and work themselves up towards a promotion, for all missions, global, local in full or in part, students can earn “mileage points”. They can scan mileage into their personal CTH account using specially designed and programmed kiosks available in the school. CTH hosts monthly HQ global raffles where children who have completed missions can have a chance to earn prizes. There is also an online prize store where children can use their points. Piloted in over 50 schools, Chayolei Tzivos Hashem’s goal is to continue to develop the program in Hebrew Schools and camps for children of all backgrounds across the world.
